Does My Condition Automatically Qualify For Disability Benefits?

The Social Security Administration was established to provide benefits to people who need them most, but many will not receive their disability payments right away. Claimants may have to wait months or even years for these payments to arrive, which can be a difficult process. However, if you are experiencing a condition that is severe you may automatically qualify for disability benefits by meeting the SSA's criteria.

Compassionate Allowance Program

Patients diagnosed with certain diseases will be able to receive expedited treatment if they are eligible for Compassionate Allowances. Some of the conditions that qualify for compassion benefits include heart disease, organ failure, and cancer. Patients with those qualifying diseases may get their claims processed in a few weeks instead of months or even years.

The SSA has a system in place that is designed to ensure that it is fair to people who qualify for benefits as well as those who do not. For example, it is faster to approve cancer claims than back or neck claims. But all claims are reviewed, and some require additional evidence. This might be an additional medical examination, or it might be reevaluating the evidence already provided if the claim is randomly selected for review.
