Wounded Warriors can have their Social Security Disability claims subjected to expedited processing.
Expedited Claims Processing
According to the Social Security Administration (SSA), any veteran who became disabled while in active military service on or after October 1, 2001, regardless of where the disability took place, qualifies for expedited claims processing.
If a veteran has a 100% P&T (permanent and total) disability rating from the Veterans Administration, then he or she also qualifies for expedited claims processing.
Many veterans qualify for both Social Security Disability and VA benefits at the same time. Both require separate application processes. You will need to provide thorough documentation for your Social Security disability claim and provide copies of all your medical records. Just because you are approved for VA benefits doesn’t guarantee automatic approval for Social Security disability.
Consult With A Disability Attorney
If you are a Wounded Warrior who is applying for Social Security Disability benefits, consult with a disability lawyer. With the help of an attorney, you are much more likely to get your claim approved.
